The Datashed is a miniature data center in the American Southwest, in the spirit of the heterogeneous machine rooms of the 1980s and 1990s. Dedicated to melding old and new technology.

Merlin Legend PBX

The heart of the Datashed’s telephone system is an AT&T Merlin Legend system, consisting of:

  • 391A3 Power Supply Unit
  • Merlin Legend Processor with CKE4
  • Module: 408 (4 Outside Lines/8 Voice Terminals)
  • Module: 008 MLX
  • Module: 012 TR with Ring Gen.
  • Phone: MLX-20L with DSS

MLX-20L Console

There is also an MLX-10DP station for the house, as well as an Automatic Electric AE40 rotary phone.

8 pairs of Cat5e go from a 66-block in the datashed to a 66-block in a corner storage closet of the house.
